Dorothy Favreau

November 29, 1928 — December 10, 2019

Dorothy A. Favreau (Guerin), December 10, 2019, died peacefully following a brief illness in Avon Park, FL.

Dorothy, Gram, Grammy Dot was born in Webster MA in 1928, the daughter of Henry and Stella Guerin. She and her husband Roland lived and raised thier family in Woodstock CT. Gram loved to cook, do arts & crafts, play bingo and most of all spend time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She worked for many years as a nursing aide and a secretary in Radiology at Day Kimball Hospital.

Following Roland’s death, and her retirement, Gram found a special relationship with Maurice Hamel and joined him at Blue Sky’s in Naples Florida where she and Moe enjoyed peddling her bike around the neighborhood, taking rides in the golf cart, enjoying the many socials (esp. bingo) and visiting her many friends in the park. Dorothy was known for her warm smile, quick wit and ability to make friends.

Just this past Thanksgiving Gram took one last trip back home to Connecticut where she visited her family and celebrated her 91 st birthday with all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. The surprise party was all she would talk about and how grateful she was for all of her family. Her only regret was leaving before the snow storm as she wanted to see snow one more time. She changed her mind when, back in Florida, she heard that the storm dropped 10 inches!

Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Roland J Favreau Sr; Virginia Rivera (sister); Henry Guerin (brother); and her companion Maurice Hamel. She is survived by her son Roland (Buzz) Favreau (Judy) of Woodstock; daughter Denise St.Onge (Donald) of Avon Park FL; son Gregory Favreau (Deborah) of Woodstock; and her son Mark Favreau (Marie Corneal) of Thompson; her brother John Guerin (Gloria) of Pensacola FL; 10 grandchildren – Brad, Melissa, Elizabeth, Jay, Jesse, Rebecca, Nicole, Benjamin, Amy & Adam; 8 great grandchildren – Guerin, Brian, Lennon, Campbell, Danny, Landon, Jacob & Henry and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on January 4 th at 11am at the Elmvale Cemetery on Roseland Park Road in Woodstock, immediately followed by a Celebration of Life at 12 noon at the Elks Club, 64 Edmond St. in Putnam.
