On Thursday, July 6, 2017, Dorothy Mae Barry, best known as “Dot”, passed away peacefully at Hope Hospice in Bonita Springs, Florida at the age of 95.  Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on May 3, 1922, Dot was the only child of the late Daniel Barry and Jane (Hezlep) Barry.  Dot was a resident of Sebring, Florida for 30 years and had many friends in the community.  She was well known for her witty sense of humor, beautiful smile, and her love of giving out candy to the residents.  She proudly served in the US Military for 26 years in both the Army and Navy Nurse Corps and retired as a Lieutenant Commander.  For her service in WWII, Dot was awarded the Bronze Star.  Dot leaves behind her best friend of 53 years, Joan St. Angelo and other members of the St. Angelo family.  Loved by all who knew her, Dot will be sadly missed.
