Donald “Duke” Wayne Johnson, age 84, of Avon Park, Florida, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2018. He was born December 8, 1933 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Orris and Rosalind (Zook) Johnson. He worked for the Federal Sign and Signal Corporation, loved golf and fishing, served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, and had been a resident of Avon Park, Florida since 1991, coming from Indianapolis. Duke is survived by his children – Kelly Johnson and wife Angie Fleming of Indianapolis, IN; Karalee Johnson of Indianapolis, IN; Buck Rankin and Family; Mark Rankin and Family; Brother – Melvin Johnson and Family; and a Granddaughter – Lynsie A. Whittlesey. He is preceded in death by his Wife – Betty Johnson. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion, 528 N. Pine St. Sebring, FL 33870.
