Donald Eugene Swigart

Donald Swigart, age 94, went home into the loving arms of his lord and Savior on June 19, 2025. Don was born in Harvey IL on May 11, 1931 to Ralph and Nellie Swigart. As he reached the 8th grade his family moved to Lewis, Indiana where he was soon to meet the love of his life, Charlotte Archer. The two were wed on September 21, 1950 and were married 69 years. Don realized at a very early age he wanted to be farmer, and God blessed him in his ability to do that his entire working life. In 1960, Don, Charlotte and their two sons along with Sharon and Charles Davis (Sister and Brother-in-law) moved to Gratiot, WI to continue their farming careers. Soon two daughters were added to the family. In the 70's Don and Charlotte started spending winters in Sebring, FL where they would eventually retire.

Don is survived by a son, Gary (Terri) Swigart, daughters, Lisa (Randal) Sperry and Susan (David) Teutschmann, daughter-in-law Laurie Swigart, 11 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren, sister, Sharon (Charles) Davis, brother-in-law Buck (Debbie) Archer. Don is preceded in death by Charlotte, his wife of 69 years, son Roger Swigart, his parents, a sister, Arlene Barrington and daughter-in-law, Pamela Swigart.

Don loved farming and was very happy that his son Gary and nephew Criss Davis had carried on the family farm to the next generation and then to see it passed on down to the third generation. As much as he loved to farm, Don loved Jesus more. Placing his faith in Jesus at an early age, Don served Him at both First Baptist Church in Sebring, FL and also First Baptist Church in Darlington, WI. He loved family and life, but he longed for the day that he would be with Jesus and reunited with his wife Charlotte.
