Donald Edward Smith

Donald Edward Smith, age 81, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2022 in Sebring, Florida.  He was born February 22, 1941 in Geneva County, Alabama to the late James Robert and Mattie Thelma (Thomas) Smith.  He had been a lifelong resident of Highlands County, was of the Protestant faith and served in the US Army 101 ^st Airborne Division where he was a Paratrooper.  Don is survived by his Wife – Loretta Smith of Sebring, FL; Daughter – Shannon Griffith (Matt) of Sebring, FL; Sons – Wayne Smith (Jeannie) of Texas; Josh Smith (Jennifer) of Maryland; Sister – Kathy Jarvis (Robert) of Winter Haven, FL; Bonnie Faye Gray of Avon Park, FL; nine Grandchildren and eight Great-Grandchildren.  Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his Sons – Daryl Smith and Robert Smith and five Siblings.  Graveside services will take place at Florida National Cemetery on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at 1:00pm.
