Donald R. Newby

Donald R. Newby, age 90, passed away on Monday, February 16, 2015 in Lake Placid, Florida. He was born on January 21, 1925 in Junction City, Kansas to the late Herman Charles and Tina Edith (Nogle) Newby. Donald was a veteran serving in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a member of the Baha'is Faith and founding member of the Local Spiritual Assembly of Baha'is of Highlands County and founding director of the "Glad Hatters" Readers Theater associated with the Highlands Little Theatre. Donald was awarded The Zenon Award for his public service. He graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology and the Kansas State University at Emporia. There will be a memorial service on Sunday February 22, 2015, 1:00pm, at the Polk County Baha'i Center, 1165 S. Lake Shore Way (Route 17/92), Lake Alfred, FL.
