Donald Arden Kennedy

Donald A. Kennedy age 89, passed away on Thursday February 9, 2017 in Sebring, Florida. He was born on March 9, 1927 in Brownsville, Pennsylvania to the late Alfred and Sadie (Marshall) Kennedy. Donald served his country in Merchant Marines during WWII and the U.S. Army in the Korean War. He retired from Firestone Rubber Company in 1981 and moved to Homestead, FL until moving to Sebring 2000. He was a member of the VFW in Sebring, American Legion in Avon Park and Sun & Lake Country Club. Survivors include his children: Jean Marie Bonham-Akron, OH, Elizabeth Jane (Steve) Zimmerman-Old Town, MD, James A. Kennedy-Powhatan, VA, John (Heather) Kennedy-Acworth, GA, eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild. Donald was preceded in death by his wife: Orsalina "Ean" Kennedy, sister: Lucille Jones and brother: James Kennedy. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, March 18, 2017, 3:00 PM, at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Sebring. The family will receive friends beginning at 2:30 PM. A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:00 PM at Island View Restaurant in Sebring. .
