DONALD WALLACE HAMLIN Donald Wallace Hamlin, 76, of Sebring, Florida, passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2010, in Sebring. He was born August 4, 1934, to Eugene Nathaniel Wallace and Willye Virginia (Simmons) Hamlin in Ft. Green Springs, Florida, but had been a lifelong resident of Sebring. He was Assistant Chief of the Sebring Fire Department for 23 years and also was a building contractor in Highlands County for over 40 years. He was a life member of Sebring Firemen, Inc. and a past member of the Highlands County Fair Board Association. He was an avid sportsman, who loved hunting and fishing and attended Grace Bible Church in Sebring. Donald is survived by his wife of 54 years, Peggy Hamlin; sons, Troy (Ann) Hamlin, Raleigh, NC; Michael Hamlin, Lake Wales, FL and Duane (Mary Buddy) Hamlin, Lake Wales, FL; brother, Quinnon Hamlin, Phoenix, AZ; sister, Lillian Johnson, Avon Park, FL; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene and Nathaniel Hamlin. Funeral services will take place Saturday, October 2, 2010, at 2:00 p.m., at Grace Bible Church, Sebring, Rev. Andrew Katsanis officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until the time of service at the church. Interment at Pinecrest Cemetery in Sebring will be immediately following the service.
