Donald Lewis Foerch Sr.

FOERCH, Donald, (Don), aged 98, was called home to be with the Lord on May 14, 2023. A resident of Avon Park, FL. Don also travelled extensively and lived in CT and CA before settling in at various locations in Florida. He was a graduate of Morgan High school, in Clinton CT. Don entered the U.S. Army in 1943, and served in WW2 as an Infantry Scout and Demolitions Specialist with the 104th Infantry Division in Europe. Don was involved in campaigns throughout Northern France, Rhineland, and Central Europe. During the Korean War he was reactivated and served in Japan. Don’s talents were many, he worked his entire life as a mechanic and electronics technician, he also opened his own electronics school (DTEC Electronics) in Burlingame, California. Don held a love for mechanics and electronics; once he no longer worked for profit, he enjoyed taking on special projects that allowed him to restore everything from appliances to automobiles. Preceded in death by his parents Harold and Rose Foerch, his wife Rosemary Foerch and son Dane (Ed) Foerch. He leaves behind his children, Cathleen Spinali (Ottavio) of Palm Coast, Donald Foerch (Donna) of Jupiter FL, and Thomas Foerch (Jocelyne) of Jupiter Florida. He also leaves 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren to cherish his memory. The family would like to extend extreme gratitude and appreciation to his friend and caretaker, Sonia Carter, along with her daughters Anntonette and Natalie. His most caring and attentive friend Donnie Gray and his compassionate physical therapist Jessie Bautista. A grave site memorial will be held at an undetermined time in Killingworth, CT where he will remain alongside his lifelong companion, Rosemary. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
