Donald McIntyre Childress, age 85, of Sebring, Florida, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2026. He was born March 31, 1941 in Bartow, Florida to Harry and Sally (Boney) Childress. Donald worked as an Engineer and also owner & operator of D & S Auto Body in Lake Placid, Florida. He grew up in Wauchula until moving to Sebring in 1958 where he graduated from Sebring High School in 1959. He was a member of the Lake Placid Morning Rotary and member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Placid where he was an Elder, sang in choir, and participated in the Grace Ministry. Donald is survived by his Wife – Linda Childress of Sebring, FL; Son – Mark Childress (Lucia) of Beauford, NC; Daughter – Kari Childress of Daytona Beach, FL; Sister – Judy Summer (Dwayne) of Sebring, FL; 3 Grandchildren; and 2 Great Grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Hart Cemetery, Wauchula, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to the Heartland Food Bank or First Presbyterian Church of Lake Placid.
