Don R. Fischnich

Don Fischnich, age 78, of Sebring, FL, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Good Shephard Hospice, Sebring Florida after a battle with viral pneumonia.  He was born to Harold L. and Wilma A. (Wentsch) Fischnich July 7, 1945.  Don was a 1963 graduate of Dalton High School in Dalton, Ohio and worked for Weather Seal (Louisiana Pacific) for 37 years in Orrville, Ohio and Ottawa, Ohio.  He held several roles during that time but ended his career in plant/regional management.  He and Lavone retired to Florida and pursued his real passion, golf.  Don was an avid golfer his entire adult life.  He carded numerous hole-in-ones over his life and many championships over the years.

Don is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Lavone (Sutton) Fischnich.  Together they raised two sons, Robert M. (Regina Hoersten) Fischnich of Kalida, Ohio and Brian A. (Charissa Brooks) Fischnich of Sebring, Florida.  Don is also survived by his brother Harold (Dick) Fischnich, eight grandchildren; Eric Fischnich, Sean (Erica Heuerman) Fischnich, Justin (Kayli Regan) Fischnich, Megan Fischnich, Ryan Fischnich, Evan Fischnich, Hailey Fischnich, Matthew Fischnich, and eight great-grandchildren; Mason Fischnich, Owen Fischnich, Khloe Fischnich, Addyisyn Fischnich, Clara Fischnich, Landyn Fischnich, Corbyn Fischnich and Kinsley Fischnich. Don is preceded in death by his parents, and one brother David A. Fischnich.
