DOLORES BANASIK Dolores Banasik, age 88, of Sebring, Florida, passed away Monday, October 14, 2013 in Sebring. She was born October 31, 1924, to Frank and Katherine (Cusak) Barton in Chicago, Illinois, and had been a resident of Sebring since 1984, coming from Chicago. She was a homemaker and member of Highlands Community Church. She loved her dog, liked to take care of her plants, played backgammon and did crossword puzzles. She is survived by her children, Kathleen (Steve) Dyson, Champaign, IL; Sherrie (Joe) Banasik, Sebring and Susan Lowrance, Sebring; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emil Banasik; sons, William Banasik and Sonny Banasik and brother, William Barton. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home, Sebring. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 17, 2013, at Stephenson-Nelson, with Pastor Bruce Linhart officiating. Interment at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Avon Park, will be immediately following the service. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to Good Shepherd Hospice, 1110 Hammock Rd., Sebring, FL 33870.
