Dixie Ann Smith

Dixie Ann Smith, age 89, passed away on April 11, 2024, in Sebring, FL. She was born on October 22, 1934, in Elkhart, IN, the daughter of Lowell and Donna Belle (Simper) Sheets. She has been a resident of Sebring, Florida since 2000, coming from Indiana.

She is survived by Charles John (Darla) of Elkhart, IN; Mark Smith of Charlotte, NC; Mindy Dillan (Dan) of Carlsbad, CA; and Amy Richards (Doug) of Columbia City, IN. and her sisters, Judy Smeltzer of Wakarusa, IN, and Nancy Stine of Winston Salem, NC.  She was preceded by her husband. Dixie was devoted to her husband, Chuck, and their bond was a source of strength and joy throughout their lives together.

As a Registered Nurse, Dixie found fulfillment in caring for others. Her nurturing nature extended not only to her patients but also to her family and friends. Dixie was a woman of immense love and strength, touching the lives of all who knew her. Dixie had a passion for travel and was an avid reader. These interests enriched her life in countless ways.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will forever be cherished.  Dixie's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were touched by her kindness.
