Dillon Joseph Strickland, age 18, of Avon Park, Florida, died on January 8, 2015, due to injuries sustained in a vehicle accident. Dillon is survived by his parents: Ronnie & Laura Strickland, sister: Lorelei Strickland, grandparents: Howe & Winona Crews all of Avon Park and Marjorie Carwile of North Carolina. He also leaves behind his fiancé Sharra Hennessey, numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and many friends including Very Best Buds: Remaro, Doug, and John. He loved you all. It is impossible to think of Dillon without his Wrangler jeans, t-shirts, and big ugly boots. He enjoyed singing along with his favorite songs (LOUDLY - even if no one else enjoyed it). He loved to draw and build things. He could ride ANYTHING and had that "need for speed". Dillon was full of life and a work in progress. Those of us left behind won't see the finished, perfect product until we meet him again in Heaven. God reminded us that HE was Dillon's Project Manager and HE called him home. In the meantime, we will have to make do by remembering those mischievous twinkling eye and the most infectious laugh EVER. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 16, 2015 at 4 p.m. at Union Congregational Church, 106 N. Butler Ave. Avon Park. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to either of Dillon's favorite charities: Heartland Horses and Handicapped, Inc. P.O. Box 3787 Sebring, FL 33871; or Heartland Food Reservoir at 227 US 27 South, Sebring, FL 33870. Arrangements Entrusted To: Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home 111E.
