Dianne Dilger, 68, of Sebring, Florida passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2022 surrounded by her loved ones after a long battle with breast cancer. She was born August 19, 1954 to Williams C. Dilger and Martha Rogers (Hewitt) of Freeville New York, both deceased. She is survived by her son Benjamin (Audra) Miller and granddaughter Penelope who live in Denver, Colorado. Sisters Katherine (Greg) Clark of Brooktondale, New York; Susan (John) Imhoff of Carey, Ohio; Elizabeth Morano of Freeville, New York; Ruth (Jerry) Williams of Groton, New York; bother Christopher (Cathy) Dilger of Freeville, New York; and many nieces and nephews whom she always spoke fondly of. Graduate of Dryden High School, Dryden NY (class of 1973) and Cornell University, Ithaca NY (class of 1991) with a BS is Floriculture and Ornamental Horticulture. She moved to Florida and eventually landed at the State University of Florida Extension as an agent in the agriculture industry leading many programs. Her fondest memory was working with the Master Gardener volunteers and developed long lasting friendships to the end. Her devotion to the Bible and her sisters in her Bible Study group gave her great comfort. She carried her determination to be a true Christian with dignity and kindness to her fellow human beings with enduring grace throughout her life and through her entire illness. Dianne loved Florida, plants, walks in wild areas, the beach, and her family who she spent time with in New York, one month before she passed, enjoying the days on her sister Kathy’s deck listening to the birds and watching wildlife while she said her good-byes. She adored all her friends who were by her side as she moved toward her death loved and guided without fail. She will be truly missed and known as a rare gemstone and a true sister and friend. “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” Maya Angelou.
