Denee Lynn Garrett

Denee Lynn Garrett, of Sebring, Fla., passed away Sept. 12, 2023. Born Jan. 28, 1975, in McAllen, Texas, Denee was fiercely loyal to her family and friends. She grew up in Indiantown, Fla., and graduated from South Fork High School, class of 1993. Her giving nature led her to earn her nursing degree at South Florida State College. She cherished the friends she made in nursing and she worked until she was severely injured doing one of her favorite things – riding her motorcycle. She lived the rest of her life beating the odds and tackling the challenges with positivity and a smile on her face. Her family is comforted by the fact that she is healed and happy in Heaven. Denee was a wild and free spirit. She might have been soft-spoken, but she was a tough country girl who loved motorcycles, rodeos, dancing, hunting and fishing. And, of course, spending time with the loves of her life – her children. She is survived by children Kristen Wilkinson, Fort Bragg, N.C., Kaci Wilkinson, Fort Pierce, Fla., and Alan Fornella, Sebring, Fla.; mother Deborah Henry, Harlingen Texas; stepmother Dianne Douglas, Indiantown, Fla.; grandmother Evelyn Hudson, Harlingen, Texas; brother Donald Garrett (Gerry), Indiantown, Fla.; sisters Joana Clayton (Rich), Memphis, Tenn., DeAnn Cantrell (Justin), of Stuart, Fla., Danielle Williamson (Carl), Indiantown, Fla., and Dayna Hardy (Drew), Indiantown, Fla.; special friend George Wilkinson, Indiantown, Fla.; several nieces and nephews; loving aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by dad Donald Garrett, Indiantown, Fla.; grandfathers Alva Hudson, Harlingen, Texas, and Ralph Garrett, Blairsville, Ga.; and grandmother Phyllis Brooker, Loveland, Colo. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Sept. 23, at 11 a.m. at the Family Worship Center in Indiantown, Fla.
