Deby Burnette, age 79, of Sebring, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at Florida Hospital. She was born in Jackson County, Kentucky on February 17, 1935 to Stevie B. and Esther (St. John) McQueen. Deby graduated from high school in Detroit, MI and attended Free Will Baptist College in Nashville, TN. Though blind, Deby lived an independent and productive life until her Home Going. She moved to Virginia in 1974, joining Bethel Baptist church where she served until moving to Florida in 2010. She has been an active member of Spring Lake Baptist Church of Sebring since moving to Florida. Deby faithfully supported Missions through her local churches. She is survived by her brother Ralph McQueen of Brooksville, FL; niece Vicky Kellner (Dennis) of Avon Park, FL; nephews Jack Martin (Mililani) of Hawaii; Paul Martin of Florida and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Stevie McQueen, mother Esther McQueen Reich and sister Bernice "Penny" Ladd and her husbands George Arthur Greer and James A. Burnette. A funeral service will be held at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Sebring, Florida on Monday, December 29, 2014. The Viewing will be held at 1:00 pm with the funeral following at 2:00 pm with Pastors Richard Schermerhorn and Pastor Lloyd Estep, Jr. officiating. Interment will be at Parklawn Memorial Cemetery in Hampton, VA. Memorial contributions may be made to Spring Lake Baptist Church: Missions, 7408 Valencia Road, Sebring, FL 33876.
