Deborah Jane Charles

Deborah ‘Debbie’ Jane Charles, 73 of Frostproof, FL, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2025.
She was born on March 23, 1952, in Gary, WV to her beloved parents William and Sue Terry.
Debbie had a long and meaningful career in public service as an Administrative Professional. She proudly served as Board Secretary for more than 30 years at the Roanoke Valley Resource Authority.
Debbie is survived by her husband of 52 years, Dennis Charles; son and his wife, Michael Charles (Jessica Jones); granddaughter, Johannah Jones; four sisters and their husbands, Patricia Smith (Fred), Deanna Blankenship (Earl), Mary Jo Stanley (Ray) and Donna Moens (Andrew); sister-in-laws, Dawn Rezai (Hossein) and Dana Kidd; and 7 nieces and 7 nephews.
The family will receive guests for a vigil at 11 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at the Basilica of Saint Andrew in Roanoke, VA on Monday, September 22, 2025 at noon.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to one of the following charities: St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Shriners Hospital for Children, or Samaritan’s Purse.
