David Duane Young

David “Duane” Young, 56, of Avon Park, Florida went home to be with his Lord on August 18, 2022. Born and raised in Avon Park, he attended Avon Park High School and was quickly recognized for his skill as a member of the Avon Park High School Baseball Team, a talent that would carry him to Polk Community College under a Baseball scholarship.

Duane simply enjoyed life. His love for fishing could only be matched by his love for his family. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and would often wander off into the night to fish under the light of the moon and stars. He would often put others before himself.

Duane was preceded in death by his Grandparents and his Father – Billy Ray Young. He is survived by his Mother – Darcille “Dotti” Hill; his Fiancé – Liz Chaves; his Children – Brittany LeRae Young, Colt Alan Sphaler, Whitney Morgan Young, Haley Madison Purser (Caleb), Destany Lynn Gomez (Gio), Tyler Duane Young, and Jadyn Lacey Young; his Brother – Billy Edward Young; Sisters – Cindy High (James), Linda Hoke (David), and Traci Martin (Teddy); 12 grandchildren; and several Nieces, Nephews, family, and friends.

Duane touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed.
