DAVID C. THOMPSON David C. Thompson, 73, of Sebring, Florida went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 16, 2010. He was born September 24, 1937 in Boston, Massachusetts and had been a resident of Sebring since 2002, coming from Rhode Island. He was a veteran of Vietnam, serving 13 years in the U.S. Air Force where he rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was employed in the nuclear industry until his retirement. A God loving man, he was a Senior Elder at the Presbyterian Church of Avon Park and was active in many aspects of church business. He enjoyed camping; was a member of the Tanglewood Motorcycle Club and was an avid motorcyclist throughout his life. A man who loved his family, he will be dearly missed by his wife of 26 years, Methel Thompson of Sebring; children, Steven of Fountain, CO; Johnathan of Washington Boro, PA; Kristopher of Lancaster, PA; William of Standish, ME; Rhonda of Westbrook, ME and Robert of Preston, CT; brother, William Thompson of Venice, FL; sister, Ruth Wiles of Chesapeake, VA; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, George. Memorial Services will take place at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, December 27, 2010 at First Presbyterian Church of Avon Park with Rev. Bob Johnson officiating. Those who wish may make memorial contributions in Mr. Thompsons memory to First Presbyterian Church of Avon Park.
