David Charles (“Tree”) Kelly, 75, of Sebring, FL, passed away on March 29, 2025. He was born on November 24, 1949, in Greenville, SC, to the late Wayne and Marjorie Kelly.
A proud veteran, David honorably served in the United States Army from 1968 to 1970. Following his service, he dedicated his life to his craft as a Master Carpenter. His exceptional skill and meticulous finishing work made him highly sought after by esteemed builders and artists. He took great pride in his work, leaving behind a legacy of craftsmanship that will be admired for years to come.
His artistic skill became evident as a young man with David producing many beautiful pencil and ink, and oil on canvass pieces over the years.
David was a proud member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters (UBC) and was an officer in the VFW, and active in the American Legion and AMVETS.
He is survived by his siblings Alan M. Kelly of Tampa, FL; Lynn Balfour of Escondido, CA; Diane E. Adams of New Haven, IN; Philip W. Kelly of Troy, OH; and Mark R. Kelly of Muncie, IN. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Cheryl Ann Kelly.
David will be remembered for his dedication to his craft, his service to his country, and the love he shared with his family and friends. His memory will live on in the homes and spaces he helped create, in the lives he touched, and in the hearts of those who knew him.
