May 20, 1944 — September 1, 2019

Sebring

Daryl Roger McDaniel passed away Sunday, September 1 st 2019 in Sebring, Florida after having been a resident there for 20 years. He was born in Wellsville, Kansas on May 20 th , 1944 to the late Vernon Ford McDaniel and Mary Louise Baily. He carried the incredibly hard-working spirit he developed working on his family farm with him as he left home to serve in many places of the world while a member of the Air Force’s budget and finance department for 26 years, reaching the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. Upon retirement from the Air Force he worked in Civil Service for another 14. Having served his country with many accolades he enjoyed a well-earned retirement which he spent fishing, caring for his yard, watching his beloved football games, cooking delicious meals and building intricate models which he executed with precision.

We will miss his wisdom, quick wit, wry smile and his stories, but the greatest parts of who he is will live on in his 5 children, 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren as they carry forth the legacy of what he taught them. Remembering him are his sons-Mark McDaniel (Kathleen) of Illinois and Neil McDaniel of Kansas, daughters-Mary Roberts (Paul) of Utah, Cassandra Smith (Chris) of Colorado and Victoria Miramontes of Washington, sisters Janet Hamm and Melinda Read of Missouri and Mary Wood of Indiana and a brother, Vernon McDaniel of Alabama.

At his request, cremation will be performed by Stephenson-Nelson Funeral home and a memorial will be held by his family at a later date.
