Daniel George Oliver Keable

Daniel George Oliver Keable, age 93, passed away peacefully in his home in Sebring, Florida on Thursday, March 1, 2018, with his daughter by his side.  He was born on September 4, 1924 in London, England to the late James and Jane Keable.  Mr. Keable had been a resident of the Spring Lake community in Sebring since 2016 having moved here from Scotland via Connecticut.  He served in the Royal Air Force during World War II.  During his service in the Royal Air Force, he was stationed in Scotland, where he met and married the love of his life, Dorothy. Daniel a connoisseur of beer, ale and lager made his career as an accountant for Tennent Caledonian Brewery.  He took his accounting skills further with his passion of Scotland, traveling and gardening as the past Treasurer of “Keep Scotland Beautiful.”  He and Dorothy were avid travelers around Scotland, Majorca and the USA where his daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren resided. Mr. Keable loved sharing his adventures with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and would sometimes do it in song.  He was a true gentleman with a brilliant smile and whose “handshake” was unforgettable.  He was deeply loved and will be sorely missed.  He is survived by his daughter – Anne Kinkade of  Sebring; his grandchildren – Karen Chiaia of Guilford, Connecticut; Andy Kinkade (Katie) of Northford, Connecticut; Fiona Kinkade Santiago (Carlos) of Sebring and Claire Dunn (Shannon) of Guilford, Connecticut.  He is also survived by his great-grandchildren – Ashley Kinkade, Aidan and Ana Chiaia, Oliver, Liam and Maeve Dunn.  Mr. Keable was predeceased by his loving wife, Dorothy Keable. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. at the Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Sebring.  Memorial contributions may be made the Good Shepherd Hospice, 1110 Hammock Road, Sebring, FL 33870.
