Daniel Gordon Bennett

Daniel Gordon Bennett, age 90 passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2011 in Sebring, Florida. Mr. Bennett was a General Contractor, member of the First Baptist Church; he served in the United States Coast Guard during World War II and had been a lifelong resident of Avon Park, Florida. He is survived by his wife-Virginia Bennett of Avon Park, Florida; daughter-Vaunda Bennett Simpson (John) of Florida Keys; sons-Jimmy Bennett (Palmira) of Ocala, Florida and Danny Bennett (Susan) of Avon Park, Florida; sister-Mary Wise of Frostproof, Florida; 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Friday, December 23, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (1 hour prior to service) at the First Baptist Church, funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jon Beck officiating. Burial will follow in Bougainvillea Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, 1110 Hammock Road, Sebring, Florida 33870.
