Cynthia Joy Hinote

Cynthia “Cindy” Joy Hinote, age 70, passed away on September 14, 2026. Born on December 17, 1955, in St. Petersburg, Florida, Cindy was the daughter of the late John Westley Hinote and Iris Mary Gregory.

Cindy moved to Sebring in 1973 from Hialeah and graduated from Sebring High School. Hardworking and determined from an early age, she held a variety of positions throughout her life. She worked as both a butcher and a baker at the local Thrift Way before eventually beginning a career in banking. She concluded her working years as a bank teller with Bank of America, formally Barnett Bank.

Cindy had a genuine love for life and tried to find happiness in both the simple pleasures and the people around her. She did find love and joy in her fur babies; Fran and Ginger. When it comes to hobbies and hidden talents, she loved fishing and spending time outdoors. She could also hold her own at the pool table, when she played. She was a wonderful cook and was known for her southern style of cooking, especially to those fortunate enough to receive a meal, they knew just how special they really were.

When she wasn’t working, Cindy could often be found enjoying some of her favorite television channels. She was a loyal and enthusiastic fan of the Food Network, Home Shopping Network, QVC, and HGTV.

Above all, Cindy will be remembered for the love she shared with her family, her beautiful smile and the unmistakable laugh that she brought into the lives of those around her.

Cindy is survived by her aunt, Jewel Peterson; her brothers, Rusty Hinote of Sebring and Tommy Hinote (Pat) of Branford; and her sister-in-law, Gery. She also leaves behind her beloved nieces and nephews, Robin, Craig, Kimberly, Eric, Bobby, Ruben, Greggy, Frankie, and Michelle, who will forever cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Westley Hinote and Iris Mary Gregory; the love of her life, Travis Waters; and her brothers, Greg and Danny Hinote.

Cindy touched the lives and hearts of all who knew her. Her deep love of God, hardworking spirit, and the many special memories she created with family and friends will not be forgotten.

She was deeply loved, dearly missed, and forever remembered.
