Cynthia Lee Beatty was born on March 14, 1952 to Charles and Elaine McFarland in Wauchula, FL. She graduated from Hardee senior High in 1970 where she excelled in academics. She furthered her education attending South Florida Community College for two years, Florida Atlantic University and finally receiving her master’s in education at the University of South Florida. Cynthia married the love of her life Larry Beatty on October 9, 1976 in Bowling Green, FL. She was a teacher at Wauchula Elementary and Zolfo Springs Elementary where she then retired after 30 years of Education. She taught the children’s Sunday school class at Zolfo Springs Baptist Church and Mount Pisgah Church Bowling Green for over 20 years. She was dedicated to bettering the lives of children through love and education. She was a longtime resident of Wauchula, FL until she retired to Highlands County where she was a member of the Avon Park Lakes Baptist Church. Cynthia was a blessed woman who loved life, her family and loved the Lord with all her heart. Surrounded by her family Cynthia went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 23, 2016 at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Sebring, FL. She is proceeded in death by her parents Charles and Elaine McFarland. She is survived by her loving husband of forty years Larry, son Brian and his wife Michelle (Jupiter, FL) son Jason and his wife Katie (Sebring, FL), five grandchildren Amelia, Mikayla, Pierce, Makenna and Finn. Sister Judy and her husband Richard Russell (Lakeland, FL). She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, traveling to the smoky mountains, watching baseball games, scrapbooking and gardening. She loved nature and enjoyed being outside in the garden or at the beach. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2016 with a visitation at 10 a.m. and a service at 11 a.m. at the Avon Park Lakes Baptist Church. A private family graveside service will follow. The family would like to extend our thanks for all the help given by the staff of Good Shepherd Hospice.
