Cynthia Louise Bailey, née Lytle, of Zolfo Springs, FL, passed away on the evening of Sunday, October 12, at The Manor at in Sebring. She had been a resident there since 2022, where she fought a long battle against a degenerative disease.
A New Year’s baby, Ms. Bailey arrived on the first day of 1941 in Titusville, PA, the daughter of the late Mary Lou and Robert “Red” Lytle. She was married to Dr. Robert T. Culp, a physician, who preceded her in death.
Ms. Bailey was a graduate of Titusville High School in 1958, and she later attended multiple training and college courses that resulted in qualifying certificates, one of which led to her employment as a paralegal following studies at Pennsylvania State University. Her employment history was diverse, ranging from a position as an X-ray technician at Titusville Hospital, to other jobs in the medical field, to arranging flowers at a shop in her hometown. Her community service was just as varied, and included volunteer work at the Titusville YWCA, supporting clients at Women’s Services of Meadville, PA, and helping organize the annual Freedom Drivers 4 Veterans golf tournaments in Zolfo Springs.
Her hobbies included painting, ceramics, and singing, and she was a member of many choruses throughout her life
Ms. Bailey is survived by her two children, Eric Culp of Frankfurt, Germany, and Alan Culp of Austin, Texas; two grandchildren, Clara Louise Culp Wirtz of Frankfurt, and Christopher Watson of San Francisco; and four siblings, Sarah Hawk of Titusville, Samuel Lytle and wife Patti of Hershey, PA, Susan Kirk and husband Thomas of Meadville, and Kevin Lytle of Nevada. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kirsten Culp.
There will be no calling hours for Ms. Bailey. Memorial contributions may be made to the Titusville, PA, YWCA or any reputable veteran’s charity. An inurnment and memorial ceremony is set to take place in the summer of 2026 in Titusville, with the final date to be announced.
