Corlan Young

July 4, 1936 — March 17, 2016

Sebring resident Corlan Young, was called home by her Lord and Savior on March 17, 2016 at the age of 79. She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on July 4, 1936 to Stanley and Loleta Weidman.  She is survived by her children, Rick Otterman, Sheila Nuzzi, and Jim (Terri) Otterman, ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.  She was pre-deceased by her husband, Hurbert Young, daughter Cheryl Welch, sister Eileen Files and brother Carl Weidman. She retired from United Telephone Company after 20 years, and later worked with Coldwell Banker Highlands Properties for 12 years. Corlan was previously active in Highlands Little Theater, The Gideons International and a member of Avon Park Lakes Baptist Church. There will be a Funeral Service on Tuesday, March 22, 2016, 12:00 pm, at Avon Park Lakes Baptist Church with her pastor, George Hall, officiating.  The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 am.  Memorial donations may be made to the Avon Park Lakes Baptist Church “Building Fund”, 2600 N. Highlands Blvd., Avon Park, FL 33825 ( www.aplbc.info ).
