Clyde A. Furbur, age 93, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 4, 2026. He was a long time resident and developer of the Orange Blossom Community in Avon Park, Florida. Clyde is survived by his wife of sixty-seven years, Celia Furbur, two sons; James Furbur (Wendy Furbur) and Peter Furbur (Sharon Furbur), six grandchildren, and numerous nieces and newphews. He is preceded in passing by his oldest son; JohnMark Furbur, parents; John and Delia Furbur, and nine siblings.
Clyde was born on April 10, 1932, in Hampden, North Dakota, to his loving parents. He spent his early years on a farm in New Richmond, Wisconsin. Clyde served his country in the United States Air Force, and is a Korean War Veteran. After his honorable discharge from service he attended Eastern Pilgrim College in Allentown, Pennsylvania where he obtained a Bachelor's degree in English Bible Studies and Theology. After graduation, Clyde went on for continued education in electronics and machining at a number of companies in Allentown. He retired from Mack Trucks, and was able to fulfill his passion for mission work and serving others over the following thirty-five years. He served on an aviation mission trip in Haiti, and other extended mission trips in Haiti, Suriname, Brazil, New Guinea, Honduras, and the Cayman Islands.
Funeral services for Clyde will be held at Community Bible Church in Avon Park, Florida, on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Family will begin receiving friends for vistation and viewing at 10:00 a.m. The service will be available to livestream on the church's website. avonparkchurch.org
Clyde will be laid to rest on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Sarasota National Cemetery, in Sarasota, Florida.
The Family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations in honor of Clyde be made to Samaritan's Purse.
