Clyde Durrah

July 5, 1957 — September 15, 2010

Clyde Durrah, 53, died Wednesday, September 15th , after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Clyde was born in Columbus, MS on July 5th, 1957 and spent most of his life in Davenport and Bettendorf Iowa. He retired in August of 2009 after spending the last 25 years of his work career as a Case Aide working with the homeless in Scott County, Iowa. He loved his job and was tireless in helping those less fortunate than himself. He was active in charitable activities outside of work including United Way, Adopt a Highway, Crop Walk, and the Quad City Council of Churches. He was an active member of Edwards United Church of Christ in Davenport, Iowa and transferred his membership to Emmanuel United Church of Christ when he moved to Sebring in November of 2009. He lived in Tanglewood with his long time companion of 29 years, Tracy Miller. Clyde was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers. A memorial service will be conducted at Emmanuel United Church of Christ in Sebring at 2:00 PM, September 24, 2010 and also at a later date at Edwards United Church of Christ in Davenport, Iowa. Memorials may be made to either Emmanuel UCC or Edwards UCC. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
