Clifford George Quast

Clifford G. Quast, a long-time resident of Lake Placid, Florida, passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 11th.

Born on September 4, 1929, in Brooklyn, New York, to his parents Edward Quast and Mildred (Ferris) Quast, he was the second oldest of nine siblings and is survived by Carol Krauch, Richard Quast, and Linda Roye.

He was predeceased by his loving wife Valerie (Devlin) Quast and Patricia Maynard, the mother of his children.

Cliff wore many hats in life:

·         Beloved father to three wonderful children.  Susan Quast Zimmerman (Steven Zimmerman), Nancy Quast (David Einhorn (D)), and Thomas Quast (Marcia Gabbard (D)).

·         Mentor, friend, and grandfather to twelve grandchildren.  Scott Zimmerman, Brian Zimmerman, Shana Einhorn, Shane Quast, Kimberly (Zimmerman) Mangum, Dustin Zimmerman, Marc Zimmerman, Robert Robertson, Dylan Einhorn, Katelyn (Quast) Stocks, and Emily Quast.  He was preceded in death by Shauna Robertson.

·         Proud great-grandfather to thirteen great grandchildren.

·         Uncle and friend to so many.

·         World War II Veteran Marine.

·     Devoted Catholic.

·         Fisherman. Carpenter. Driver. Bicycle Enthusiast. He loved the water and sharing time, food, wine, and conversation with his family and friends.

We will all miss him greatly.
