Claude E. Newton

Claude E. Newton, age 89, passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2017 in Sebring, Florida.  He was born on March 17, 1928 in Hutchinson, Kansas to the late Clifford and Celestia E. (Serviss) Newton.  Claude had been a resident of Sebring since 1994 coming from Mansfield, Ohio and served with the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.  He was of the Methodist faith and enjoyed traveling.  Survivors include his wife: Phyllis Newton-Sebring, FL; daughter: Sandra Newton-Sebring, FL; two sons: Brian Newton (Betty Jo Hall)-Arcadia, FL; Dale Newton-Sebring, FL; sister-in-law: Berta Lea Newton-Hutchinson, KS; grandchild: Quinlan Newton; step-grandchild: Cassidy Hall; great-grandchildren: Haven Newton; Dawson Newton.  There will be a funeral service on Thursday, July 27, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home with Mike Adams officiating.  The family will receive friends beginning at 9:00 a.m.  The burial will take place at Sarasota National Cemetery.
