September 21, 1941 — January 5, 2026

Sebring

Clare Ballou Kryscuk, age 84, of Sebring, Florida, joined her beloved husband, Roy, in Heaven on January 5, 2026. She passed peacefully at the Good Shepherd Hospice House. Clare was born on September 21, 1941, in Brooklyn, New York, to the late George and Ann Ballou. She was the oldest of seven siblings. In 1960, she married the love of her life, Roy Kryscuk, and together they built a beautiful life and raised two children. Clare and Roy shared 65 wonderful years of marriage. They enjoyed many vacations, especially camping trips with their entire family. Together they owned and operated Roy’s RV Center for many years. They were true role models—always ready to help anyone in need. When asked the secret to their long marriage, they would simply say, “We don’t get mad on the same day. “Clare was soft-spoken, gentle, and kind. She loved music and played the piano. She found joy in flowers, sunrises, sunsets, tea parties, and, most of all, being with her family. As grandchildren and great-grandchildren came along, she cherished every moment with them—attending dance recitals, music programs, and school events whenever she could. She was a wonderful listener, always genuinely interested in the lives of those she loved. A woman of deep faith, Clare began each morning reading her devotional while sitting on her patio. She enjoyed time with friends, long lunches, cruises, camping trips, and catching up with her siblings. Clare leaves behind a large and loving family who adored her and will miss her deeply. She is survived by her daughter, Sue Dean (Danny Hammock); her son, Roy Kryscuk (Beth); grandchildren Adam Dean, Angie Brock (Justin), Andrew Dean (Candace), Brandon Kryscuk, Josh Kryscuk (Allie), and Abigail Clayton (Seth); and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Maureen Barrera (Gus) and Elaine Montgomery (Rich); brothers Harold Ballou (Irene), George Ballou (Lorraine), and Kenny Ballou; along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Kryscuk, and her brother, John Ballou. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 10, at 3:00 p.m. at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home. To honor our mother’s love of flowers, tea parties, and beauty, those who wish are invited to wear floral attire or a tea-party-inspired hat. This is entirely optional—please come dressed in whatever feels most comfortable. Your presence is what matters most. Memorial contributions may be made to the New Testament Church in her name.
