Clara E. Queen

CLARA E. QUEEN Clara E. Queen, 94, of Sebring, Florida, passed away Saturday, June 12, 2010, in Sebring. She was born May 9, 1916, to Bernard and Elizabeth (Voss) Ambre in Gary, Indiana, and had been a resident of Sebring since 1971, coming from Gary. She was a school bookkeeper; a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church and St. Catherine Womens Club; Highlands Garden Club and the Tourist Club of Sebring. She also was a volunteer for many years at The Palms of Sebring, eventually residing there. She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy Queen, Richfield, MN; son, James (Sharon) Queen, Griffith, IN; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Ambre, Indiana; grandchildren, Todd (Jamee) Given and Scott (Karen) Queen; seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home, Sebring, with a Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at St. Catherine Catholic Church, Father J. Peter Sheehan officiating, with interment at Pinecrest Cemetery immediately following. Those who wish may make donations in her memory to either the Palms of Sebring or St. Catherine Catholic Church.
