Christina Kathleen Conkle

Christina Kathleen Conkle, born on April 16, 1931, in New Brunswick, Canada, to the late Charles and Christina Newlands, passed away on July 28, 2024, in Avon Park, FL, at the age of 93.

Christina moved to Avon Park in 1976 from Michigan. She dedicated her professional life to caring for others as a Medical Assistant, a role in which her compassion and dedication truly shone. Her commitment to helping those in need was a testament to her generous and loving nature.

She is survived by her children, Marlene W. Alexander of Seattle, WA, Dale L. Waugh (Velincia) of Davisburg, MI, and Daniel R. Waugh (Janice) of Holly, MI. She also leaves behind her siblings, Alexander Newlands (Louise) of Battle Creek, MI, Grace Lennon of New Brunswick, Canada, Margaret Dinsmore of New Brunswick, Canada, and Carol Smith of Nova Scotia, Canada. Christina was a cherished grandmother to Daniel Waugh and Marlene Alexander, who will forever hold her memory dear.  She was preceded in death by her dear grandson, Ronald Waugh, and her siblings: Elizabeth Sherwood, Jessie "Jenny" Cox, Elsie Brooks, Charles Newlands, and Donald Newlands.

A devoted member of the First Presbyterian Church of Avon Park and proud member of the Red Hat Society, Christina found joy and fulfillment in her community and faith. She was an avid golfer, a skilled bridge player, a talented knitter, and an exceptional cook and baker. Her culinary talents and creative crafts brought warmth and joy to her family and friends.

Christina's unwavering dedication to her family was evident in every aspect of her life. After the passing of her beloved husband, Ronald W Waugh, she raised her children with strength, love, and grace, instilling in them the values of kindness and dedication.

She will be remembered for her loving, devoted, and generous spirit, her many talents, and the kindness she showed to everyone she met. Christina Kathleen Conkle's legacy of love and care will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
