CHESTER R. KALIS Chester R. Kalis, age 84, passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2010 in Lake Placid, FL. He was born in West Springfield, Massachusetts on November 30, 1925 to Edward and Eleanor (Rutka) Kalis. He was an Electronics Engineer for a Gas Company; Of the Catholic Faith; Served in the U.S. Army during World War II; lifetime member of the West Springfield-Agawam Elks Lodge # 2174, was an amateur radio operator-K1LTD, former president of the Hampton County Radio Association. He was an avid golfer and member of the Highlands Ridge Country Club. He was a resident of Avon Park since 1993 coming from West Springfield, Massachusette. He is survived by his wife, Leonie (Terry) Kalis, Avon Park; sons, Steven R. Kalis, Southhampton, MA, Thomas E. Kalis, North Bridge, MA, Frank DeGeronimo, Orlando FL; daughters, Lynn A. Nault, Westfield, MA, Andrea M. Armstrong, West Springfield, MA, Kelly F. Perez, Sebring, FL, Kim M. OConnell, Westfield, MA; 12 Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris (Driscoll) Kalis; sister, Alfreda Kalis Noonon, brother, Walter S. Kalis.
