Cherry "Cheri" Lynn Norton

Cherry “Cheri” Lynn Norton (Jones), 65 years old, was born on June 26th, 1959 in Orange, CA and passed away suddenly on July 8th, 2024 in Sebring, FL.

Cheri was a beloved daughter, devoted mother and grandmother, wonderful sister, and genuine friend. She spoke fondly of her happy childhood growing up in Bath, MI on “Jones Lake” with her parents, siblings, and friends. She moved to Chicago, IL after graduating from Bath High School, married, and raised two children. Cheri loved watching her three grandchildren grow. She retired early at 62 as a bar manager to move to Sebring, FL with family. Cheri was generous, kind, and endlessly loving.

Cheri is survived by many family members; her two children, Kelli Reynolds (Norton) married to Cale Reynolds and James “JJ” Edward Norton III married to Heather Norton (Gehrling), her wonderful grandchildren Kayla Gerhling, Dakota Koonce, and James “AJ” Edward Norton IV, her superman father Roy “Diz” Jones and his partner Mary Ann Duvall, her cherished siblings and their spouses, Bo and Patty Jones, Kimala Jones and Scott Roth, and Dave and Dianna Jones. She was aunt and cousin to many extended family, and often treated and cared for her children’s friends like a second mother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James “Jimmy” Edward Norton Jr and her beloved mother Sharon Jones (Burgess).

A small private gathering will be held in Sebring FL following cremation. A celebration of life memorial will be held in Chicago, IL and Lansing, MI within the upcoming months, TBD.

In lieu of flowers, her children request donations to be made to local animal shelters and breast cancer research organizations in her memory.

Her family wishes to extend gratitude for all the support and care they’ve received in this difficult time. Cheri is, and always will be, loved to the moon and back.
