CHARLES R. SARGENT Charles R. Sargent, 82, of Sebring, Florida, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2011, at his home. He was born July 19, 1928, to Charles E. and Roberta (Jackson) Sargent in Aurora, Illinois, and had been a resident of Sebring since 1985, coming from Middlebury, Indiana. He was an Executive for a Modular Home Manufacturer and of the Congregational faith; a member of the Masonic Lodge in Naperville, IL and the Eastern Star in Elkhart, IN, where he was Past Worthy Patron and was a member of the Sebring Golf Course. He served in the National Guard before being called to active duty in the U.S. Army to serve in Korea, where he earned the Korean Service Medal; three Bronze Service Stars and the United Nations Service Medal. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Gloria S. Sargent of Sebring; son, Earl Bradford Sargent, Bristol, IN; daughters, Sharon D. (Jon) Schoemann, Lake Placid, FL; Cynthia A. (Mike) Scheuer, Three Rivers, MI and Victoria S. (David) Seifert, Sebring; sisters, Joyce Dee Moser, Lisle, IL and Joan Kay Mears, Lawrenceville, GA and two grandsons, Brandon and Robert. Friends who wish may contribute to the Shriners Hospital or St. Jude Hospital in his memory.
