Charles Richard Rachel

Charles Richard Rachel, age 87 passed away Sunday, August 22, 2010 in Sebring, Florida. He was born in Chenneyville, Louisiana to Oliver Joseph and Laura (Frances) Rachel. He was a salesman, member of the First Christian Church of Avon Park; he served in the United States Navy during World War II and had been a resident of Highlands County since 1986 coming from Reno, Nevada. He is survived by his wife of 7 years-Thelma Rachel of Avon Park, Florida; step-son-Dan Hamilton of Denver, Colorado; sister-Nell Brouittette of Cottonport, Louisiana and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife of 25 years, Janet Rachel. A memorial service will be held Sunday, September 12, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the First Christian Church of Avon Park with Pastor Gregory Ratliff and Pastor Bill Raymond officiating. Burial was held in Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida on August 25, 2010.
