Charles N. Coriell, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2026, in Sebring, Florida. Born on October 18, 1939, in Somerville, New Jersey, Charles’s journey was one of commitment—to his country, his career, and most importantly, his loved ones.

Charles’s distinguished military service in the United States Navy was a defining chapter of his life. He took great pride in his role aboard a nuclear submarine during the Cuban Crisis, a testament to his courage and dedication in serving his nation during a pivotal time. Following his military service, he moved to NJ and went on to excel in his professional career as an industrial adhesive plant manager, where his leadership and expertise were respected and admired. He retired in 1998 from being a plant manager and moved to Sebring, FL. He then got his ministry degree from Liberty University. Yet beyond his career and service, Charles was a man who truly cherished the moments spent with family. Those closest to him recall his special affection for his grandchildren, with whom he shared countless joyful hours. His warmth and devotion as a father and grandfather were perhaps his most enduring legacy. Charles was also a man of varied interests. He loved to read. He volunteered with Little Lambs Prison Ministry where he preached in the local jail with the men’s ministry, reflecting his commitment to his community. He was actively involved in his church. He was a devout member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church since 1998. He maintained the title of deacon and treasurer. He also was a Sunday School teacher for years.

In addition, his musical talents brought joy not only to himself but to those around him; he sang bass, played the guitar and had a particular fondness for his Dobro, filling the air with melodies that echoed his gentle spirit.

He is survived by his devoted daughter, Denise (Danny) Copeland; Sons, Steve (Relly) Hooper and Mike (Ellen) Hooper; and his loving sisters Kathy Crowell, Rae Smith, and Joy Smith. His grandchildren Jason Johnson, April Snell, Imaan Hooper, Anissa Samaras, and Amber Copeland were his pride and joy. Charles was also surrounded by the love of 8 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and many nieces and nephews, who held him in great affection.

Charles N. Coriell’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, a lasting tribute to a man who gave so much and asked for so little in return. He will be profoundly missed and remembered by his family and friends who cherished him dearly.
