Charles Joseph Mooney

age 90 passed away Sunday, September 23, 2012 in Sebring, Florida. Mr. Mooney was born in Washington, DC to Bernard and Ethel (Davis) Mooney. He was retired from the city of Ft. Meade, of the Methodist faith, he served in the United States Navy during World War II, he enjoyed working with model airplanes, bowling, hunting and spending time with his family and friends, he had been a resident of Sebring since 1972 coming from Maryland. Mr. Mooney was preceded in death by his wife of over 60 years- Mary Helen Mooney. He is survived by his daughter-Karen Thompson of Sebring, Florida; son-Gary Mooney (Angie) of Sebring, Florida; grandchildren-Jessica Stone (Mike) of Sebring, Florida and Candace Mooney Todd (Jason) of Sebring, Florida; 3 great grandchildren-Kayden, Landon and Jaxson. A private memorial service will be held at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice.
