CHARLES VAN LINDSEY Charles Van Lindsey, 70, of Sebring, Florida, passed away Friday, April 16, 2010 in Avon Park, Florida. He was born December 30, 1939, to Van Bryan and Marguerite (Bradford) Lindsey in St. Augustine, Florida, and had been a resident of Sebring since 2004, coming from Punta Gorda, Florida. A member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Avon Park, Past Grand Knight of The Knights of Columbus, Fourth Degree, he served in the U.S. Navy Reserve from 1958-1959. He was a law enforcement officer for the railroad and had been a Deputy Sheriff in St. Johns County and Monroe County. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Lindsey of Sebring; children, Elizabeth (Ron) Crawford, St. Augustine, FL; Viktoria (George) Gardner, St. Augustine; Van Bryan Lindsey II, Port St. Lucie, FL and Nicholas (Peggy) Lindsey, Pine Grove, WVA; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A Memorial Mass will take place at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Avon Park. Donations may be made in his memory to the Knights of Columbus.
