Charles Keith Huckaby

Charles Keith Huckaby, beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and dedicated golf professional, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2024, in Sebring, FL, at the age of 87.  Charles was born on August 25, 1936 in Memphis, TN. He graduated from South Side High School and then chose to serve his country that he loved in the Marine Corps from 1956 through 1959.

It was during this time that Charles utilized his God-given talent along with his unwavering passion to pursue a career as a professional golfer.  He was well known for his determination and independence and continued to work in the golf industry until age 79.   His dedication and accomplishments to his work as a Golf Professional were unmatched, and his membership in the PGA showcased his commitment to the sport he adored.  His love for golf was evident to all who knew him, as he spent countless hours on the course perfecting his game. He also enjoyed his cigars, cooking , and his family.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Irene Huckaby, father, James  Huckaby, sisters Martha Thomas, Billye Summers, brother Pete Huckaby and his love, Donna Collins.

Charles is survived by his daughters, Christina Rivas (Marc) and Kimberly Huckaby, his brothers, Roy Huckaby (Betty Ann) and Ronnie Huckaby, five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Charles leaves behind a legacy of love for his family and for his country.  He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, a hardworking professional, and a friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. May his memory be a blessing to those who knew him and loved him.

A graveside memorial will be held for Charles as he will be buried at Memory Gardens alongside other family members in Memphis, Tennessee. A lunch reception will follow to celebrate his life.
