CHARLES J. CHUCK GUTH Charles J. Chuck Guth, 86, of Sebring, Florida, passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2010, in Sebring. He was born September 21, 1923, to Conrad and Ethel H. (Chapman) Guth in Cohansey, New Jersey, and had been a resident of Sebring since 1988, coming from Toronto, Canada. He was a missionary, joining SIM in February, 1948, and retiring in September of 1988. He worked in church planting in Southern Sudan and also was an artist, working in publications for SIM in Toronto, Canada. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Avon Park. He is survived by his wife, Doris Guth, Sebring; daughter, Judi Haugen, Wheaton, IL; son, Charles J. Guth, Jr., Northbrook, IL; son-in-law, Glen Coleman, Canada; brothers, Rev. Donald R. Guth, Cold Spring, KY and Willard Guth, Pittsgrove, New Jersey; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty; daughter, Carol Coleman and son, Douglas Guth. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 6, 2010, at the SIM Fellowship Hall in Sebring. Funeral services will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 7, 2010, at the SIM Chapel with Dr. Ian Hay officiating. Interment at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Avon Park, will follow at 11:30 a.m. The family suggests donations be made in Chucks memory to Gideon Theological College for Training Sudan Church Leaders, c/o SIM 4114 Nigeria Street, Sebring, Florida 33875.
