CENON MAQUILING VELBIS Cenon Maquiling Velbis, 70, of Kissimmee, Florida, passed away Monday, September 6, 2010, in Kissimmee. He was born on July 30, 1940, to Severo and Juliana (Maquiling) Velbis in the Philippines, and had been a resident of Kissimmee since 2004, moving from Sebring, FL. He was a Medical Technologist and a member of The American Society of Clinical Pathologist and the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. He loved nature and enjoyed gardening and raising flowers. He also loved meditative music, both sacred and secular. He is survived by his wife, Carole Velbis of Kissimmee; sons, Cenon Erwin Velbis and David Severo Velbis, both of Orlando, FL; daughters, Arlene Dale Rogers, Gallatin, TN and Esther Lee Williard, Sebring; brothers, Bert Velbis, Triangle, VA; sisters, Betty Macapol, Marietta, OH; Nora Isip and Fely Alsim, both of Philippines and seven grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 10, 2010, at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home, Sebring. Funeral services will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Stephenson-Nelson with Chaplain Wayne McNutt officiating. Entombment at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Avon Park, will be immediately following the service. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to Florida Hospital Foundation, 4200 Sun N Lake Boulevard, Sebring, Florida 33872.
