Cenon Misa Menes

Cenon Misa Menes, age 82, passed away surrounded by friends and family on Sunday July 2, 2023 at Advent Health Hospital Sebring Florida. He was born on December 15, 1940 in Santa Cruz, Zambales, Philippines and the fourth child to Teodulfo and Josefa Menes with his siblings, Bernardo, Constantino, Concepcion, Cesar and Norma. After high school, he continued his education at Manila Central University for both his undergraduate and medical degrees. Cenon worked for a time as the school physician at Mountain View College. Met the love of his life, Adelaida Bautista and married her on May 24, 1966. He then continued his training with an internship at Euclid General Hospital, an affiliate of Cleveland Clinic. He went on to finish his anesthesia residency at the University of Chicago then pursued his career at Hinsdale Hospital for over 30 years when he retired in 2006. In July 2022, Cenon and Aida made the move to Avon Park Florida to live out their golden years.

Cenon was a soft spoken but social person - quick to tell a joke, share a story and lend a helping hand. He was a deeply religious man and helped pioneer the Hinsdale Fil-Am SDA Church where he was an elder for many years. The church was his passion and his focus outside of his profession. His other interests included home gardening, woodworking, ping pong, tennis, traveling and making memories with his family and friends. He was the rock of his family and survived by his wife, Aida, of 57 years and his children Mike, Mark and Cindy and their families: Mike - Jeanelle and children Amanda (Mitch Weibert), Branden and Catie; Mark - Liz and children Gaby, Javin and Lily.

He will be missed by his church, colleagues, and friends, but mostly by his family.
