Carolyn Gilliam

Carolyn Gilliam, age 84, passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022 in Sebring, FL. She was born on February 12, 1937 in Leoma, TN, to Carl R. and Mable V. (Dotson) Henson.  Carolyn worked as a school teacher, she enjoyed scrapbooking, gardening, and tutoring children. She was known to her students as Nina. She loved her dogs. She is survived by her loving children- Donna C. Cash of Lawrenceburg, TN;  Michael J. Gilliam (Dawn) of Sebring, FL; sister by heart- Carla Rice; niece- Carol Burns. Surviving are also 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother -Charles R. Henson. A graveside service will be held at 3:00pm on Monday, January 31, 2022 at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Avon Park, FL.  The family would like to extend sincere thanks to Extended Family Care of Sun N Lake in Sebring, and Compassionate Care Hospice of Sebring. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Highlands County Board of Education or the Highlands County Humane Society.
