Carolyn S. Crane

Carolyn Tonneberger Crane, " CeCe" passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024 in Lake Placid, Florida at the age of 79. The daughter of James H. and Marjorie (McHenney) Tonneberger. She was born on April 1, 1944 in Tecumseh, MI. She attended the Unity of Sebring Church and has been a resident of Lake Placid since 2005, having lived in Key West, Florida for 28 years. Carolyn was a member of the Sebring Garden Club, KW Orchid Society, Unity Enrichment Center in Sebring, Aviary Club, Lunch Club Wednesday, Heartland Dog Club and the President/ Founder of Key West Critter Patrol, a nonprofit rescue group to promote the spay, neuter and adoption of cats, dogs, and exotic birds. She enjoyed working with her beloved Wylie & Kritter Patrol volunteers at the Delta Society Pet Therapy Center.  CeCe was a dedicated foster parent and friend to many animals. She was an avid gardener and loved her native butterfly gardens and flowers. She is survived by her partner – Dr. Gerald Gleisner of Lake Placid, FL;  brother – James Tonneberger of Bradenton, FL ;beloved nephews – Chad Tonneberger of West Olive, MI; and Luke Tonneberger of Rockford, MI and great nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents – Jim and Marge and uncle - Tom Tonneberger.
