The story of Carol Louise Coss began on December 20, 1936, in the charming town of Geneva, Ohio, bringing warmth and joy to all who knew her. She passed away on July 3, 2024, at Kinder Hospital in Riviera Beach, Florida, at the age of 87. Her long life was a testament to her resilience, kindness, and unwavering love.
Carol was a woman of many talents and passions. She loved crafts, excelled as a water safety instructor, and enjoyed skiing and ice skating. Her sewing skills were exceptional, and she could create intricate sports jackets and other garments. But her greatest talent was her dedication to her family and community, which was evident in all she did.
She and Ken made Highlands County their home in 1996 after moving from Akron, Ohio. They were faithful attendees at the Emmanuel United Church of Christ. While Carol was primarily a homemaker, she frequently traveled with Ken during his work in various countries, creating lasting memories and friendships.
Carol is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth "Ken" Coss, her devoted daughter, Karen McCracken, and her cherished sister, Norma Beach. She also leaves behind her beloved granddaughter, Faith McCracken, and four adored great-grandchildren: Cody, Kira, Kayla, and Carla. Preceding Carol in death are her daughter, Cathrine Coss, her sister, June Horner, and her parents, Orville and Alice (Roxberry) Phelps.
Carol's family was the center of her world, and her passing has left a void that will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved her.
