Carmen L. Velez Rios, age 71, of Avon Park, FL passed away Monday, March 23, 2020 at her home. She was born March 5, 1949 in Manhattan, NY to Luis Velez and Juanita Rios Laviera. She was an elementary school teacher, of Pentecostal Faith, and has been a resident of Avon Park, FL since 1987, coming from Puerto Rico. Carmen is survived by her Daughter – Charmaine Giraud; Brother – Luis Velez; Sister – Valerie Velez; Grandchildren – Eduardo, Genesis, Raymond, Yamilette, Leslie; Great Granddaughter – Sophia; and Nephew – Carlos Daniel Baez. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, or Enlace Television Christiana.
